About the Kramer Society

The Kramer Society is a grassroots parent-led organisation dedicated to reshaping Australia’s education system by returning curriculums to Western ideals that cultivate knowledge, productivity and skills for the real world.

The politicisation of Australia’s academic institutions by activists has coincided with the nation’s fall in a range of global educational rankings. This fall leaves Australian students less qualified and less productive, hindering their development and preparedness for the challenges of the real world.

The Kramer Society aims to combat the infiltration of radical political agendas in Australia’s education sector and steer the nation’s curriculum priorities towards preserving the rich Western cultural and intellectual heritage that played a critical role in shaping civilisation.

The Kramer Society believes that a return to providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the historical, philosophical, and innovative foundations that have shaped the modern world is vital towards equipping them with the necessary critical thinking skills to succeed.

About Dame Leonie Judith Kramer, AC, DBE

Described by The Australian’s Paul Cleary as “one of Australia’s literary greats”, Dame Leonie Kramer was a pioneer in academia and an influential force in Australia’s political arena.

Dame Leonie was the first woman to serve as chancellor of the University of Sydney and the first woman to be chair of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

Fearing that Australia’s educational institutions had “fallen victim to fashionable theoretical notions, often imported from overseas and not infrequently when they have already been abandoned”, she fought for rigorous academic standards and the promotion of intellectual rigor within universities.

She believed in fostering a culture of critical thinking and scholarly pursuits, emphasizing the importance of a well-rounded education that encourages students to explore diverse disciplines.
